From project to stage power

......The story of the Pop Symphony Orchestra

What began as a one-off project for the Top 2000 concert in 2023 quickly grew into something extraordinary. Lisiduna's Project Orchestra transformed into the Pop Symphony Orchestra (PSO): a modern, pop symphonic orchestra with its own sound and big ambitions.

During the Top 2000 concert 2025 in the AFAS Theatre, the PSO took to the stage for the first time in this powerful form. An impressive metropolitan orchestra with an extensive wind and string section, combo, backing vocals and singers. Under the direction of artistic director Jos Pijnappel, it exuded energy, quality and musical versatility.

From 2026 onwards, the Pop Symphony Orchestra will continue as an independent orchestra. This means:
•⁠ ⁠more concerts;
•⁠ ⁠more venues;
•⁠ ⁠more themed productions.

In addition to the beloved Top 2000 concerts, the PSO is working on new shows such as ‘ABBA GOLD Live’ and other pop & crossover programmes.
