Top 2000 in Concert - 2023 edition

The roof came off!
On Friday 22 December 2023, the Project Orchestra performed the spectacular “Top 2000 in Concert” programme in a completely sold-out AFAS Theatre in Leusden. For the occasion, the orchestra was reinforced with musicians from the region (a total of 75 musicians), which significantly increased its musical “punch”...

20 different pop songs
In a period of just 2.5 months, conductor Cees Coenen took the Project Orchestra through a stream of no fewer than 20 different pop songs to learn. After a series of enjoyable Saturday rehearsals – enjoyable, but also hard work! – and the weekly “normal” rehearsal, in which the artists and singers also participated, the time had finally come: action on stage!

Standing ovations
The show was a successful collaboration with Alderliefste and Wudstik, a number of great local artists, dancers from Pauline de Jager's show ballet and the Popvalley choir. The Project Orchestra, supplemented by a professional combo, formed the foundation of an unforgettable evening and saw its musical efforts rewarded with standing ovations from the ecstatic audience!
